Copenhagen 27/10 2015. 50 cl bottle from Fakta. Red version of Rise Bryggeri's usual design.
Pours slightly cloudy with a yellowish head. Stable. Settles as a 0,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Some lacing on the side of the glass.
Aroma is metallic with a touch of sweet caramel. Toffee and biscuits.
Medium strong carbonation and watery palate. Thin and lively texture.
Flavor is well balanced between malty caramel sweetness and medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is slightly sour.
Quite decent Amber Ale.

Purchased by my wife while visiting Ærø Island in Denmark.
The head is reasonably thick from a bottle. It recedes slowly and in a rocky fashion. Dark amber color and crystal clear.
Lots of semisweet caramel to the nose. There's a tiny bit of "iron" smell in the background.
Tastes more toasty than the smell suggests, making this a complex brew. A good (and balanced) hop comes through in the swallow. There is an earthy aftertaste that blends well with the other flavors. Full bodied and better carbonated than the Gylden Pale Ale.
