very enjoyable, flavoursome beer - an excellent example of the style ,which I would like to see more of.

aroma: orange/spice/chocolate/floral

taste: orange, orange peel, spice/pepper, grapefruit, cocoa/chocolate and floral coming through with slight brown sugar and wine

full of flavour and delicious.

 

500ml bottle thanks to Chris@Slowbeer. Possibly getting a bit long in the tooth for a hop-forward offering.

Deep treacle with a robust beige head that falls at a glacial pace to a 1cm raised ring and film.

Abundant sweet chocolate and baked caramel malts shading piney hops, which in combination yield some firm woody notes. Some tropical hops are apparent, but hard to deconstruct amidst the malt base.

Follows the nose. Big choc-toffee malts and assertive pine and fruity hops. Strong notes of earthy caramel and mint-slice biscuits.

Full, smooth and resiny, transitioning to a mellow, satisfying bitterness. Understated carbonation.

I'm sure this would be quite a bit better if fresh. It's still an impressively muscular brown ale; a style we should be seeing a lot more of.

 

Ok horrible name but a style I love although it could be said with this hop bill of the the four big C's like it says on the label it really is an India Brown Ale and on pour its a deep chestnut hue with a tanned two finger head that recedes fairly fast and just leaves touches of clingy lacing here and there,the smell is a massive dose of piney hops and I mean massive mixed in with grapefruit,torn lemon leaves and fresh flowers just by the nose you know it's gonna be a hop bomb,the mouthfeel is medium bodied with perfect moderate carbonation and I gotta admit its been a while since I've had a beer that really leaves my palette in a bitter state like this its just massive piney hops,grapefruit,freshly sucked lemons and there's a brief interruption from the nutty malts which sets up the spicy hoppy bitterness nicely and overall I'm definitely buying more of this cheers.
