Poured into a Gavroche tulip. Pours a lightly hazy rich golden amber with lots of white particulates and a half finger white head with good retention and lacing. Interesting aroma of Belgian yeast and spicing, gingerbread, orange citrus and overripe stone fruit. Flavor is sweet orange citrus, light stone fruit, pear, light tropical fruit, coriander, candi malt. Medium bodied with some light creaminess, mild carbonation. A very pleasant, fruit forward Belgian style ale. The flavors seem somewhat muted, but are nevertheless complex and interesting. I was a little disappointed to see the white particulates and feared an aged or compromised bottle, but this is very nice. My hunch is that it is not that fresh, but I have no complaints about the flavor. An very nice Italian take on Belgian ales. A bit sweet, but I'm surprised there is so little love for this. If it was available fresh and local, I would get this often.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A: mildly cloudy pale orangish brown. There are some large chunks of compressed yeast that float around a bit before settling out. Forms a very thin white head that quickly fizzles away to absolutely nothing. Not even a hint of surface coating or lacing.

S: Strong bready quality with lots of coriander spice and bit of green herbaceousness.

T: Starts off with a bit of a corny sweetness. Almost tea-like. Then spice, coriander, a sweet herbal quality, and a bit of alcohol.

M: Medium bodied. Very low carbonation - virtually flat. Spicy. Mild bitterness.

O: A decent beer, drinkable, but overall, nothing too exciting. Tried pairing this with a tomato tart and it didn't complement the dish worth a shit.

 

Pours a cloudy yellow color with a blonde streak and what appears to be coriander seeds floating around. Interesting.

Spicy with an earthy/grassy component to it, probably from the coriander seens?

A nice dollop of citrus mixed in with spicy yeast. Crisp. Just a bit of alcohol warmth.

Mouthfeel consists of lingering spice and alcohol warmth. Not much else left to discern.

I believe I've had better examples but there's no reason to discount this one. It's actually quite drinkable as is and unlike anything you may usually see from an Italian brewery.

Pours white gold with a puckering carpet of pure white head that sheets. Nose is lemon zest, candi sugar, sour grain and spice. Sour hay and lemon cookie with grass, coriander and a hint of white pepper. Soft, round, very creamy, some cling, medium.

Average Belgian PA that is saved by the incredible body that seems to be characteristic of Italian craft beer. As usual, boosted by food.

Golden color, with greenish edges. White foam, beautiful, compact.
The smell is very floral, fresh, with orange flowers, orange peel, spicy and fresh. Apricot and peach.
The taste is fresh too, with peppery notes. Absolutely plesant. Camomile.
The alcohol is well hidden. Quite hopped and dry, too.
Some candy sugar hint, and again apricot. Well balanced, thanks to a generous amount of hop.
High drinkability, thaks to its dryness.
Full, warming, but not overwhelming.
Good dryness in the aftertaste, with hoppy notes. Bitterness and spices.
A very good beer.

Bottle, purchased at Rome's Off License Beer Shop. Appearence is a near perfect light golden with a full head that sustains well. Aromas hint of flowers, spice, polish and light fruits. Flavor hints of fruits and polish. A fairly good Belgian style ale.

The style is more of a Belgain Strong Pale.

A: Hazy golden-bronze, off-white head, very little retention or lace (average compared to a Belgian).

S: Sulphury-mineral, spice, tropical fruit and citrus rind.

T: Corriander, sulphury-mineral, candied pineapple, mango, marmalade, biscuity malt with hints of nuts and warming alcohol.

M: Moderate body is well-attenuated with a dry finish.

D: Personally, I'm not fond of the sulphury-mineral aroma & flavour. I'm not sure if this is from the water or a product of the yeast?

Italian Belgian ale style packaged in a purple 750ml bottle.

A: Poured a hazy bright pumpkin orange color with a big frothy off white head that was moderately lasting.

S: light and yeasty with some light sour citrus and oranges dominate.

T: The initial flavor was bready and full of dry oranges leaving a very dry velvety sourness behind, one of the true highlights of this beer. The hopping was light, spicy and floral with some dry, lemony/citrus notes. There were notes of a dry sour fruitiness (peach, apricot) most likely from the yeast, along with a nice peppery touch for the finish. Upon warming there was a nice candi sugar sweetness along with a warm honey flavor that sweetened the creamy palate. Overall a solid good Belgian golden ale style, but nothing really outstanding. The dry velvety sour orange finish definitely highlights this beers quality wise which was well brewed and clean, drinking smooth for its 8.4% abv.

M: surprisingly smooth and creamy with little carbonation detected.

D: A good beer but doesnt quit measure up to a true belgian and a tad pricey at $20 a bottle to justify.

note: this brewery has several other beers ive had but not currently listed yet, including thier BB10 which is very good.

Pours a very slightly clouded gold and straw with a decent sized off white head. Nice, if not uneventful nose. Definite sugar and spices, and everything nices. Flavor is decent. Some definite fruit tones in there. Almost like drinking beer with a juice edge. A bit thin. So is the feel. Much thinner than I would prefer, but it is still a nice beer overall. It doesn't kill it. This is an easy drinker. Too bad the body isn't a bit more firm.
