Draft offering at the new spring house brewery location. Served in a snifter the brew appears black in color with a khaki head. Some strings of lace hang on the glass. The smell includes notes of raspberry that almost perfume-like with a backing of chocolate and roasty earth. The taste is roasty with raspberry sweetness and mild pepper warmth. Some char, earth and coffee are also noted. This is medium bodied and modestly carbonated. A creamy rich and interesting experience.

Deep black body, small brown head. No good lacing. Aromas of baker's chocolate, roast, and jam. Subtle raspberry up-front on the palate with a touch of the pepper on the back-end. Not hot save for a quick flick in the linger.
