Draft offering at Spring House appears black in color with a khaki head. Some cola brown clarity is noted around the edges.

The nose is fairly muted but some sweetness and coconut comes through as it warms up and breathes along with a slight note of chocolate.

The taste is bright with coconut, almost perfume-like and oily. There is plenty of bitter cocoa roast and coffee into the aftertaste.

This is medium to lighter in body with moderate to low carbonation with warming alcohol feel. Not bad, not great either.

On draft at the brewery. Listed as a Porter. Very dark with thin head and mild lacing. Aromas of coffee, coconut, light roasteness, I'm smelling some cherry I believe. Taste is very integrated with the coffee and coconut. Again I get a dark cherry flavor with mild hopiness. Mouthfeel is very nice, nice carbonation for style with lots of lingering flavors without coating. Quite drinkable at 8.1%. Another winner in the dark category for Spring House.

Just...absolutely delicious. If you like coconut and coffee, don't hesitate. And to think I'm practically next door to where this is brewed. Definitely a beer I will remember and order again many times if I can. Probably within my top 6 or 7 of all time.

Edit: after having this a second time, not quite as top of the line as I remember it. Still very good.
