Thanks Kirby for sharing this one with us. 750ml corked and caged bottle "won via raffle" at the brewery on St Pats day. Poured into a snifter, the brew appears a clear orange color with no head formation.

This smells like oranges. Well, its all orange juice and nothing else. No wild bacterial character, no yeastiness, no malt and no barrel character. I find it hard to believe this is even beer let alone a barrel aged sour.

The taste is straight orange juice slightly bitter with a fresh and zesty orange juiciness. There is zero beer aspects to this. Its not sour and it displays no barrel character that I can pick up on.

This is light in body with modest carbonation. It really is not even beer, its watered down and carbonated orange juice. I dont get the sour or barrel aspect at all. If I was offered this again, I wouldnt turn it down because honestly it isnt bad. I just dont know how to fairly review a beer that doesnt taste like beer.

On tap at the Hazel street brewery. Pour is slightly orange with a thin, white head. Aroma is orange and grain; not much wine. Taste is a juicy orange and a grain, maybe wheat? Little to no barrel presence. Tartness/sourness is very low. This reminds me of a kettle soured beer. Feel is thin and again there is no barrel presence in the finish. Don't get me wrong, I like this beer for what it is but I was really let down by the lack of any wine barrel presence. It was really easy to drink and they packed a lot of orange flavor. Would be great as a summer seasonal.
