Spring House Brewing Co. "Earth+Sun+Moon"
16 fl. oz. can, "CANNED ON 06/09/22" and sampled on 07/12/22
$5.29 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: So what do we have here? The only information the label gives us is that it's a hazy pale ale at 5.2% ABV, and that it's "tropical with a citrusy twist". It's poured a cloudy golden body beneath a finger's width of off-white foam. The aroma suggests Citra hops to me with notes of grapefruit, orange, and lime. The flavor follows but it's wider. The malt is lightly sweetish and mildly bready. I'm getting additional hop notes of nectarine, passionfruit, grassiness, berries, bubblegum, and a touch of both melon and pine. It's a more focused, sharper hop character than I usually find, and the lime is more pronounced than it normally is. My guess is that this is Citra and Mosaic but there could be something else in play as well. A moderate to median bittterness balances it and it finishes mainly dry with the fruitiness eroding quickly to leave behind bitterness, earthiness, spiciness, and underlying herbs & pine. In the mouth it's medium to medium-light in body and crisp. The head has held up well and I still have a thin but cottony surface covering and plenty of lacing about the glass. For a pale ale, as opposed to an IPA, it's got a lot of hop character to it. It's not too sweet, nor is it too bitter, making it a solid drinking beer that could serve you for three or four in a row if desired.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
