Dark, opaque pour with a crop of tanned head resting on top. Spotty lacing dots the glass with a collar of retained foam.
Whoa - fresh chopped jalapenos attack the senses immediately, tempered by some dark chocolate, smoked malts and raspberries. A little sweet with some alcoholic warmth.
Surprisingly well integrated on the tongue, combining the fiery jalapeno spice with juicy raspberries and dark chocolate sweetness. Smoked, roasty malts with bready and cocoa notes. Finishes with another lick of vegetal peppers, chocolate cake and boozy warmth.
Fuller medium body, nicely carbonated, chewy and heavy on the tongue. Yet another innovating beer from Spring House on the menu during my visit. I'm always worried about beers integrated with chilies or spicy peppers, but this was pulled off pretty well, albeit slightly aggressive.
