A surprisingly easy-drinking IPA with an amber color and some malty, carmel backnotes to combat the assertive US hops (Falconers Flight, Simcoe and Citra).

Draft offering at the Springhouse taproom this past weekend. I dont see a BA listing for anything similar so I assume this is a new offering. A plain jane, unadulterated IPA that was the highlight of my visit. The brew pours a clear copper color with a finger of lightly tanned froth that holds with a creamy topping. A full wall of lace sticks to the glass.
The aroma is absolutely juicy with tropical hops. A little touch of dankness, weedy, herbal and grassy with hints of pine and resins. Almost an orange marmalde sort of character emerges as it warms.
The taste is bitter and rindy/resinous with almost an oily cling of resinous hop. Some solvent alcohol blends to hop flavors that are grassy and weedy and herbal. This is like chewing on grapefruit rinds but in a good way.
This is a medium bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. Overall a real solid showing. I enjoy trying the new concoctions springhouse comes up with but they seemingly always end up sounding better than they really are. This one delivers where others fall short.
