The beer arrived at the table hazy and a medium golden amber color. The head was off white and lasting.
The aroma was slightly vegetal (liked cooked vegetables - DMS). There was no malt aroma and just a slight hop aroma.
The flavor was also slightly vegetal. There was an English hop flavor, but no real malt backbone.
The finish was bitter and lasted well into the aftertaste. The body was light.
The beer menu said this was the second runnings of the barleywine. It was light in flavor and had off aromas.
On tap at the brewpub.
