On tap at the brewery. Black in color with a frothy tan head to it. Nice head retention as well.

The aroma has a milky chocolate and cocoa presance to it. It's smooth and creamy and pretty appealing overall.

The taste also shows a creamy, milk chocolate flavor with some bitter sweet flavors coming out towards the finish. Just a hint of a burnt smokiness is in the finish.

The mouthfeel is slick and creamy with carbonation being low. Overall it was a pretty good beer of the style. It was flavorful, easy drinking and I liked the nItro tap mouthfeel.

A - Pitch black with two-finger creamy tan head.

S - Faint notes of coffee, marshmallow, and chocolate.

T - Chocolate, roasted coffee beans, roasted malt.

M - Light bodied bodied, but probably a little too thin.

O - Makes for an easy drinking session beer. Mouthfeel is kinda too thin. Flavors are good, but could supported with a stronger mouthfeel. A better option if you're dining at South Street.

Smells of roasted malts. Nitro-pour yields an incredibly delicate head. Very much black. It is incredibly smooth with just enough carbonation to keep this beer active. Rich malts are followed by rich, sweet cocoa, and lightly bitter coffee. Really very nicely done. The best of the beers I had on their tasting sampler.

watching it pour you would swear they had poured a Guiness on accident. pours black with a nice 1-2" head that never totally disappears and leaves a nice lacing over the whole glass.

subtle hints of milk chocolate and dark sugar waft across the nose. taste doesnt share these traits... almost bland. very little bitterness from the hops.

Ordered a pint at the brewpub bar and it was my favorite of the beers I sampled. It's just a flat-out great session beer. Light on the tongue, super-drinkable, and still tasty. The flavor isn't huge, with a chocolate espresso and roast grain character. But it's still a very nice beer and a great stand-in for your usual Guinness nitro tap. I'd take this over most Irish Dry Stouts any day.

Served on-tap in clear pint glass.

A: Very dark brown/black with respectable off-white 1-2 finger head with very good retention and decent lacing.

S: Coffee, milk chocolate, and roasted dark malts

T: Nothing bad with good roasted malt, strong coffee, and bittersweet chocolate flavors. Just nothing that grabs you.

M: A bit too thin but helped out byt the nitro-tap.

D: Good but a bit forgettable. A decent session option if you like sweet porters.

Had this on nitro-tap and found it to be a well-balance, nicely rounded porter. The nose was of decently toasted malts and the taste followed suit. There was nothing really special about this beer, which made it, in my opinion a pretty special beer. Just a well done porter that could be sessioned without too much taste overload.

A: Deep brown with some ruby red highlights, with a nice creamy head as a result of the nitro-pour.

S: A notable roasted malt scent that could be detected from a bit of a distance. Some milk chocolate scents in there. Toasty breadiness (I suppose one could just say toast!)

T: Some coffee qualities, cracker, softer chocolate notes - again, milk chocolate like... smoother. Roasted malts.

M: Nitro does tend to do wonderful things for these house porters. A nice, full, and creamy body that complements the flavours and aroma quite nicely.

D: One of my preferred selections from here, and something I can look forward to when coming.

This beer reminded me of Guinness. The head did last forever. The taste was chocolately and smokey with a sour kick at the end. However, the body was too watery and the taste lacked punch. It seemed like something an Englishman would sip for hours at the pub.

part of sampler tray at the brewpub. Served as deep brown color with off-white head. Smell is of chocolate and coffee and things dark and burnt. taste is coffee-like with notes of chocolate. Mouthfeel leaves a superb nice dry finish. An excellent example of this style of beer.

The beer arrived at the table a translucent black. The head was tan and long lasting. In fact the head never, EVER, went away.

The aroma was chocolate and coffee. Also present was a slight roasted aroma.

The flavor was very smooth with a slight sourness and coffee/chocolate flavors.

The finish was dry with slight coffee/chocolate. The body was medium light.
