The beer arrived at the table a translucent deep amber brown color. The head was very good, off-white, and long lasting.
The aroma was sweet malt, bitter hops, some slight complex spices, and cherry/sherry aromas.
The flavor was cherries and chocolate with slight spices. Very complex, slightly sweet, and well done.
The finish is dry chocolate and ever so slight spice. Also in the finish is quite a bit of alcohol. The body is medium full.
Quite a complex and interesting beer!
Cask conditioned at the brewery. The beer list said this was a young barleywine mixed with stout and spices.
