A - Pours a smooth creamy golden. Little hazier for the style. One finger head that sticks around. Nice lace.
S - Very hoppy with a little malt at the end. Some spices too. Basil maybe???
T - I thought it was great for this type. It was extremely smooth and crisp. Much lighter than I had expected going in. Lots of saaz and cascade hops and not too bitter at the end either.
M - Again really crisp and clean. Not as heavy as I have had for this style. It is really impressive at how smooth and refreshing it was.
D - This one is dangerous. It does a great job hiding the alcohol which most don't. You would never know that it was 7.7% and not a regular 5% pilsner.

Imperial Pilsener, brewed with Columbus and Saaz and a "excess" of Pilsen malt to celebrate South Street's 10th anniversary. Served in a tumbler?
Appearance: A very slightly hazy, a radiant yellow orange, like apple juice, with a foamy half-finger head, slightly below average retention, bubbly. Fades into a sheen of foam.
Aroma: Basil, mint, a few good notes, orange zest, very sweet. Agitation releases some faint pine. Pleasant, way too faint though.
Taste: Mild bitterness, lots of leafy and citrusy hop notes. Faint sweet, honey-like malts. Unfortunately a strong soapy note, as well, probably from hop misuse. Columbus comes through, but the Saaz seems strange, out of place.
Mouthfeel: Very light and fluffy, even, not too thick. Leaves a funny mouthfeel, though.
Drinkability: A decent stab at the style, though it falls a little short. There are some funky off flavors here, and a few that don't quite meld right, too. Alcohol is perfectly reasonable, though.
