From a bottle poured into a snifter, a dark pour.
Initial aroma is of toasted barley malt, as is the flavor. Weak head and little lacing.
The bourbon flavor is enjoyable, licorice, caramel and vanilla flavors tend to dominate.
On the underside, raisin/plum flavors , and a bit of tanginess linger.
Booziness is not as quite as pronounced as anticipated for a 10.5% ABV.
The finish is as sweet as expected for an imperial beer to be. True to the style!
