Copenhagen 15/7 2023. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Industrivej, Løkken. Licorice pipes whirling about in dire waters and Nibe Bryghus' logo wire the lighthouse on the label.
Pours opaque dark maroon with big off-white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin, almost transparent patch of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with sweet dark, toasted malts mingling with a pronounced scent of sweet licorice. Toffee, caramel and toasted bread. Raisins. Sweet licorice. A bit like the pipes, actually.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, almost flat texture. Flavor is medium intense with a rather strong sweetness followed by a moremoderate bitterness. Aftertaste is bit bitter but mellowed by a sweet undertone. Lingers for bit. Finish is semi-dry.
Decent Dark Lager where they manage to cram bit of Skipper's Licorice Pipes into the mix.
