I enjoyed this on nitro pour at the brewpub, served chilled in a glass.
The color is dark brown with thick beige cream for head with small bead and good retention with lace collecting. The smell has a smooth roasted and slight sweet malt odor with mild yeast ester and gentle raisin-like aroma. The feel is mostly creamy nitro-feel with mild roast and good malt body with a gentle fruitiness which corresponds with sweetness that is on the low end with a semi-dry finish and almost no bitterness.
The taste is pleasant with smoothness of lactose with slight sweet body with moderate roastiness and slight caramel taste and subtle chocolate malt character in the middle with a malt grainy and nutty aspect with caramel and toast in tandem with roastiness continuing into a semi-dry finish. Overall I like this -it is very enjoyable and a good example of the style -a good mid strength stout with the addition of lactose giving the perception of sweetness compared to the oatmeal which is similar since both were nitro-poured

This is served on nitro at the pub. It pours dark brown with some lighter reddish hints of clarity around the edges. A finger of silky khaki head rests atop throughout the entire duration like only nitro can. It leaves some spotty lace patterns on the glass.
The aroma contains a mild amount of citrus, minerals and fruity quality almost like raison. Some earth and roast round the rest of the profile out.
The flavor is earthen, roasty and citrus-filled with a dark fruitiness almost like raison. At times it feels a little mineral filled with a slight green/yeastiness about it and herbal with faint hops noticed at times. When larger sips are taken, it feels a little dusty with a bit of black licorice.
This is a light bodied brew with mild feeling nitro carbonation that gives a silky texture. Overall this is well done, i think the yeastiness and mineral aspect could be cleaned up just a touch but otherwise this is on par for the style. Some milk stouts are sickenly sweet while others you cannot even tell they are milk/sweet stouts. This offering falls right in the middle.

Very recent addition to the brewpubs lineup. Unsure of abv, but likely not higher than 5. From last night.
I just love the way sweet stouts look in a glass. Curved pint glass, black, with a creamy white head which persisted. Great lacing
Aroma was sweet, very faintly of toasty malt.
This is very good going down the hatch. Smooth, creamy, pretty sweet, even for a milk stout. On a hot day, (was pretty cool temperature last night) I could see pounding the living daylights out of this beer all day long. Yes, I have a bit of a sweet tooth.
Mouth was on the thin side. I wish milk stouts could somehow be just a little fuller on the tongue, but is what it is, and that's a pretty minor gripe.
Overall, another great offering from Selin's Grove.
