This came across to me more like a Belgian quadrupel than a Baltic Porter. Pours a relatively light color, lots of dark fruit aroma and flavors, almost liqueur-like, but without being too boozy. Good but not what I was expecting.

Cocao nib-infused, organic Porter. Absolutely delicious but a one-off keg that won't be around long. Will stop again today for one and a more critical analysis but I imagine I'll still love it.

Growler thanks to stakem!!

This brew appears very dark brown almost black with a creamy white head.
Smell of this brew is nice roasted malts and sweet chocolate with green leafy hops.
Taste of this brew just blew my mind for a porter it's fuckin amazing! Nice and tangy up front I'm guessing from the hops and very nice smooth milk chocolate finish and roasted malts its just the perfect balance !
Mouthfeel is crisp and creamy at the back end it's just a well rounded beer!

Overall this beer blew me away I wish I had another growler thanks stakem! If you are in the area get a fill of this it's just thy awesome!

On tap on 10/16 served in a goblet. This brew appears brown in color with a creamy finger of head. A spotty and webby pattern of lace sticks all over the glass. When held to the light, some ruby coloration is noted.

The smell of this new is tangy with alcohol. A little bit of roasty grain mixes with minerals and earthy/herbal hops. As it warns up, a bit of caramel malty sweetnes evolves.

The taste is crisp with tangy alcohol that is immediately evident just like the aroma leads on. Some sulfur and mineral aspects run throughout the profile. A little fruity with the alcohol and hops. Minor roasty quality with a toasty grain inclusion to the aftertaste.

This is a medium bodied brew with a modest level of carbonation. It is quite crisp and easy drinking. Some of the mineral and sulfur aspects could be cleaned up a bit to increase the overall enjoyment but as-is it isn't bad and worth a try.

Served on tap at the brewpub into a tulip

A- pours black with a one finger brown head that quickly fades

S- aroma is mainly of chocolate and roasted malts...yummy

T- this is very, very sweet....lots of dark fruits are coming out of the flavor of this one, and there's some sweet chocolate hiding in there too

M- very thick

O- this one was just a little too sweet for me. I didn't think it was roasty enough

Aroma: Rich malty sweetness, reminiscent of dark dried fruits, licorice notes. No hops. Very smooth.

Appearance: Dark reddish brown. Thick, persistent tan-colored head.

Flavor: Rich malty sweetness with a complex blend of deep malt, dried fruit, and alcohol. For me a complex richness Mouth-filling and very smooth. Starts sweet but darker malt flavors take over and lasts through finish. Medium-low bitterness.

Texture: Full-bodied and smooth.

Poured on tap quick four ounce sample presented.

Hard to see inside but, a dark brown but held up to a light bulb shows a super ruby red color body. Light caramel collar and creamy puck with stickiness lacing.

Nose is a mild nut and lightly sweet. Malt presence seems a little subdued but otherwise pretty good scent.

Malt chocolate tasting with classic Selins' creamy texture. Big on malt with an interesting hop and tannic nut finish not unlike a good brown ale.

Overall just more winning from this brewing company. Creamy malty and some where in between a real good porter and brown ale.

Another organic offering, arrived at the table looking just spectacular, very dark with nice full lighter brown head. The head dissipated some, but maintained a covering throughout.

Smell was sweet, caramelly, and taste was full and smooth. An excellent mouthful, almost a shame to swallow it (almost)

Overall, a very good smooth porter

a: served in a small chalice, the beer is a clear, dark nutshell brown in color, an originally thick cream colored head falling back to a heavy ring

s: sweet tree fruits - dark raisin and plum on a clean, malty lager structure, papery noble hops add a nice counter but mostly stay out of the way, perhaps some light toast, glimpses of leather and tobacco, like

m: light, delicate carbonation and a medium, supple body

t: lots of dark malty fruit flavors, sugar plum, raisin, carries some commonality with the dubbel style but immediately identifiable as a lager by its clean palate free of yeast influence, sweeter but well balanced with a mild to moderate earthy, aged euro hop flavor, drier cocoa and light roast flavors in the finish, quite nice

d: seems more in line with the original European versions I've sampled than the more powerful, amped-up American versions, sweet and flavorful but very much balanced and understated, highly quaffable

enjoyed on the brewpub porch on a fine late October afternoon

On tap at the brewpub on 10.30.2010.

Pours very dark with a thin off white head and some spotty lacing on the way down. Nose is light roast with toffee, caramel, and some dark fruits. Very slight black licorice character. Un-pungent nose all together. Taste is some dark fruits with some light chocolate and toffee. Feel is a bit thin, but this drinks quite well.

Growler filled at the brewery.
Pours a dark and rich cola-brown with some caramel and ruby tones. Small head even with a hard pour. Good smell of mostly chocolate and roasted grain but isn't very strong. Taste is much less subtle. Roasted coffee, woody smoke and dark chocolate. Doesn't taste boozy despite being nearly 8%. Mouthfeel is creamy and full bodied. Very low carbonation. Drinkability is pretty high for the style. All in all, this is a one of the better tasting baltic porters I've had.

Growler campside after the Hop, Vines &Wines festival 7/17.
Toffee colored with crimson corners, allowing plenty of light to strike through. A 1/4" almond and cola cap of smallish bubbles sit tight above. Quickly falls to a wispy ring of lace on the glass.

The nose is faint, straightforward... Wheat, honey. Lacks any toasted characteristics. This is a letdown.

That's why the taste is a surprise. A bounty of carbonation on the lips combines well with the creamy body. Nice start. Plenty of sweetness opening into the mouth. Tart cherries, kahlua cream. A loose backing of leathery tobacco plays for attention with more pronounced honey. Takes the show into a cherry licorice high as it moves to the throat. A touch of smoke keeps things grounded. packaged into a silky finish... Enough carbonation to haul things along but still a bit of movement required to Truly clear the throat. Echoes of figs and prunes lend a complexity and depth to this beer. Lacks any notes of dry roased malts to keep things refreshing. A little sloppy.
Intriguing but no doubt this is a heavy beer for a 95degree + day.
This is my first visit to the brewpub. I am blown away overall but this isn't my favorite beer in their lineup today.
