Picked up a growler at the brewery Friday lunchtime. Pint from that yesterday.

Looks suitably stouty, dark brown to black body, small off white head leaving a little lacing initially.

Aroma a little surprising, dark fruit seems the most forward.

Taste follows the nose. It manages to be both smooth, as you would expect from an oatmeal stout, but has the stronger flavors you might expect from a RIS. Lottsa raisin in this one.

Mouth between medium and full, finish dried fruit.

Overall, not what I was expecting, and perhaps strays from the standard for the style. Having said that, it was certainly a tasty offering, not highly roasted, smooth, but no creaminess or chocolate notes.
