Had this pour in Rtyna, Czech Republic. This is really good, and caught me by surprise, maybe the best blonde bock that I’ve had, since it seems to be clean and crisp, like a great pils. The bitterness in the finish does work well against a lingering, and quite sweet aftertaste. Strays from the style a little, but who really cares? I really haven't had too many blonde bocks to compare, but this one was great!

Poured into pint glass.
Solid gold color with yellow streaks. very small head, perhaps I didnt pour it correctly.
hops hit me first in the aroma followed by bread and sweets...like a donut.
Good lemony background in the tast. Yeast and malt are there as well as some earth..grass maybe? Carbonation wasnt overpowering as it looked.

Presentation: Slender 12 ounce brown glass bottle that arrives with a metallic green main label and a color coded green and white crown cap. Listed as ‘Lobkowicz Prince – Blonde Bock Beer’. No listed strength or freshness date anywhere to be seen.

Appearance: Super gold shining crystal clear body. Head is a restrained but solid ½” thick creamy off-white head. Effervescent conditioning, each swallow helps maintain the head through the drink.

Nose: Fruity nose, Czech Pilsner malts in the middle with a sharp Saaz hop finish.

Taste: A fruity malty Lager…light toasted grain with some freshly cut grass floral hops and a mild bitterness. Aggressively refreshing and thirst quenching. Sweet malts cover the fruity biscuit finish.

Mouthfeel: As with the Knight, the decent carbonation assists in providing a decent feel and presence on the tongue. Well attenuated. Clean and very crisp.

Drinkability: I was really hoping I has some more of this left in the bottle to be honest….sadly it was all gone all too soon.

Overall: A tasty “Pale Bock”…..I’m not sure how much emphasis to put on this description to be honest…..but I like it, nonetheless. Princely.

Pours a golden orange/yellow with an average white head, lacing will coat the glass as you drink. The smell is of grain and toast. Hints of butter. The taste is a nice sweet buttercup caramel blended with toasted grains, very nice. A good beer to have with a meal.

Pours a deep golden with a thin head seems to be pretty highly carbonated,sweet malty aroma with some toasted grains.Taste is lightly sweet and I get a light smoky element in there even a soapy note in there.Not much hop presence but not much hop in a bock is fine with me.A pretty flavorful, drinkable bock.

Pours a clear golden brew, looks like a Pilsner Urquell.

Smell is sweet and grins with a significant amount of malt in it. There is a dark grain scent to this like toasted wheat or raw rye.

Taste is a bit sweet and grainy with a nice but not overpowering maltiness. There is a hard to detect but present slight bitterness.

Mouthfeel is good.

Very drinkable, best brew this brewery makes, and a deal at $1.25 for a 16.9 Oz bottle.

There is a fruity aroma that is pleasing to the nose.

There is a fruity, spicy flavor present which is very refreshing. I was pleasantly surprised with this taste.

The mouthfeel is thin, crisp and dry. Very nice.

This is a very drinkable beer that would be excellent to sample in the summer. I really liked this beer and would be happy to try it again.

From a long-neck 12 oz bottle, it's a deep yellow with a foamy white head. The smell has definite bock aroma but a bit on the light side. The taste, however, kicks in nicely with a nice bready taste. The mouthfeel is decent, and it goes down like water. It's not worth seeking out but definitely worth a try in the unlikely event you see it sitting on the shop shelf.

A deep yellow beer with a white head. Tastes very full of hops and the aftertaste has a lot of hops flavor. A very good beer. I like it served ice cold, as opposed to warming up (I tried both ways). Wasn't much in the way of carbonation, so it tastes a little skunky when warmed, IMO.

Poured a crisp, clear golden color with sizable, sticky head that retained well. Carbonation appeared light. The aroma was sweet like barley, with a hint of floral hops. Definetely had a lot of pilsner characteristics but still had a bock lik sweetness in the taste, finishing with a smooth hop spiciness. Mouthfeel was light yet smooth, carbonation was low.

Gold color, small white foamy head. Aroma is grainy and slighlty sweet. A lightly hopped, medium malted Helles . A slightly malty lager. Good flavor, mild taste. Mouthfeel is a touch thin. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is neutral, very-very slight bitterness.

Spicy sulfury CO2 on the initial approach. As evolution continues a floral hop appears with some malty crispiness.

The beer presents hops in the front of the palate before fading into a roasted brown butter continential malt.

Finish is light sweet with a lingering bitterness that stays.

Maybe because they call it a “Blond Bock”, I like it better than if it was called a “Bohemian Pilsner”, at any rate, it has the characteristics of a “Pilsner” as follows:

The beer pours the quintessential transparent gold color, the head humongous in size, bright white in color, frothy in texture the lace a sealing sheet upon the glass. Prototypical nose is all malt, somewhat sweet, crisp fresh and clean, start sweet and malt laden, the top skinny in its feel to the palate. Finish has a light acidity, the hops pleasantly spicy, quite dry aftertaste, a good summer afternoon beer, not great, but drinkable nonetheless.

Continuing through the "nobility"...

Bright golden color with a pale medium-bubbled head of nice denseness and duration. Minimal lace, mostly patches. Tartly aromatic, green crabapple, currant, and mace impression. Sweet cider-like flavors, a fruity and spicy sense combines with Saaz to produce a light bodied and interesting early sense that attenuates to a soft neutral sense at the finish. A nice balance of sweet and tart with little lingering flavors. An interesting cold fermenter here, more going on than I expected.

"Blonde Bock" says the label, but they must mean maibock, I think.
Color: transparent yellow. Head: nice, frothy and white.
Aroma: speaks of very little, with faint notes of citrus and honey, that become stronger and sweeter later on in the drink.
A nice flush of hops strides upon the palate, then zips away. Texture is good and tasty. Body light, but mouthfeel is prominent. I didn't like this brew at first, but when I put it into perspective and compared it without maibocks I've enjoyed, it started to grow on me. Sweet and tasty, buttery, honeyish, with remittent hop occurences.

Dry. Definitely a tart apple sense. Finishes just like a Granny Smith apple. Zero malt, in my humble opinion (despite what their website says).

All-in-all, a clean, crisp lager. Not what I would call a bock really.

The Prince: I’ve had the hat trick: the baron the knight and now the prince. ½ liter brown bottle. Deep golden color, dense white head. This is a “blonde bock beer.” The aroma is pronounced and very fruity, grapes and apples. This is a very crisp beer. Not sweet, and not much malt for a “bock.” The taste and after taste reminds me of eating a slightly tart apple, very pleasant. This is a very good beer, easy to drink as summer is coming on. Highly recommended.
