Part of a HopCat beer flight.
Appearance: A ruby red sort of color with a finger of head or so. Decent lacing. Seems to have good clarity as well.
Smell: Sugary. Fruity, but not tropical fruits... cherry? A pretty significant malt profile, which I'd expect given the style, and just by looking at the color of it.
Taste/feel: Really quite nice. The alcohol, for one thing, is hidden well, as there's no trace of it. The best part of Double Chin is that cherry-like flavor I get on the front with quite a bit of sweetness, before getting a slightly bitter hoppy finish. Medium sort of feel with a not-too-high carbonation.
Enjoyable. Best part is definitely that cherry kind of fruit flavor on the front. Pretty good, but not great. $6.50 for a tulip of this seems a bit high, but it definitely is tasty.
