Stopped in HopCat Grand Rapids and had this on draft. Pours a very dark brown/black with a bubbly, slightly off white head. The nose was very interesting; the dominating note was.... cocaine? Thoroughly confusing to be honest... I've smelled many off flavors in beer but never one that smelled strongly of cocaine. I passed it to my friend and she got the exact same thing without me suggesting it first. Definitely weird.
Anyway, this one was billed as a "sour stout." It was definitely a stout, but it wasn't very sour. The weird, medical cocaine notes dominated the nose and the flavor profile. Overall, really weird and interesting, but there weren't any real redeeming qualities to the beer.
