On tap at the HopCat during the Grand Rapids beer week 2012. Poured into tulip.
A: Pours a murky reddish brown with some light penetrating. Nice 1 finger whitish head, lasting ring, yet minimal lacing.
N: Some sweeter caramel notes, with some nice citrusy amarillo notes.
T: Very little sweetness, but a good lasting hop bitterness. Citrus with a touch of that caramel and some candied sweetness.
M: The bitterness fades quickly, and doesn't leave your mouth too dry. Not cloying.
D and O: Pretty enjoyable Barleywine (?), possibly a sweet DIPA. Hard to say. Enjoyable.

Pours reddish brown with a slight head. Lacing is very nice.
Aromas of orange and citrus balanced by malty bliss.
This bridges the gap well between 2IPA and Barleywine. Lots of citrus with malty balance.
Solid BW mouthfeel. Medium full.
This is the best HopCat beer that I've had and it is a really good Barleywine.
