Poured at fridge temp. Pours a muddy red/brown with zero head. Still some good carbonation though. Bubbles rising throughout. The nose is dominated by notes of red wine. After some time in the glass, I get notes of vanilla, plums, rhubarb, oak, and a hint of lemon.

The taste is insane. It's bursting with flavor. Comes across as a still barleywine, which accentuates the flavors. Red wine is, again, the dominant flavor. Apricot, a slight sour candy note (like a sour patch kid but less sour), oak, and again a light vanilla flavor. This definitely brings up memories of a really old English barleywine - like a 20 year old Thomas Hardy's Ale. A bit of old leather books is there as well.

Bottle: Poured a dark burgundy color ale with no head and no carbonation. Aroma of caramelized sugar with oak and vinous notes is quiet sublime. Taste is a superb mix of caramelized malt with some light residual sugar balanced off against some oak and sweet white wine notes. Body is quite full with no carbonation and no apparent alcohol notes. Incredible beer that sips very well with loads of complexities but very high drinkability.
