Had on tap. 4 years aged. Clear brown pour. In my travels in Italy I understand what they are going for here and I think it is pretty successful, taking the english holiday ale base and imparting vermouth flavor matrix. Both smell and taste are swirling with complexity, with each sip featuring something different in my attention. I got notes of juniper, gingerbread, plum, toasted caramel, orange peel, barley, dry earth, dark barrel, dry yeast, leather, various herbs and spices. Oh yeah and booze, lots of booze! Feel is barely holding this all together with the botanicals and booze in particular pushing the limits of the beer base, but slight leakage might be intentional given the vision. Holiday boozy sipper
