Near black color—no light passes. Smaller head but there’s a near continuous blanket of lace on the glass.

Oddly, I’m picking up bacon in the aroma, perhaps an unexpected smokiness. In the background are some lightly toasted brown bread.

Thinner body, very much like an Irish dry stout but without the nitrogen. There’s black patent malt present but the coffee flavors are mild. This more like burnt malt than chocolate as well.

a rich and velvety, albeit rather simple, dry oatmeal stout. very well made, professional quality like all the beers we had in here. its matte black with a thick mocha colored head a little less than an inch high but with great retention. ring lacing as i sip it down. deep roast to this reminds me of fresh ground coffee, bitter and earthy with a dark chocolate nuance and an almost burnt intensity. the oats smooth it out in the flavor and the feel, round and rich, lightly toasted but not sweet at all, and with a pleasing charred bitterness to finish, cocoa and coffee suggestions again, and some real length on this one. its frothy and thick feeling, but enjoyably low alcohol and super dry as they go, with a sort of european ale yeast flavor in the finish with the roast, bready and hearty for something so low abv, and creamy textured from the oats. very much brewed to style, but really well done. the grain depth is impressive, and it was one of my favorites in here. a nice sipper on a rainy afternoon in montreal!

Tap at the brewpub: Poured a black color stout with a nice light brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry roasted malt with some chocolate notes is quiet nice. Taste is also a nice mix of dry roasted malt with some chocolate flavours and light coffee notes. Body is a bit thin with good carbonation. Easily drinkable but maybe a tad thin for the style.

On nitro at the brewpub. Very cream head on black. Coffee bitter taste, also some element of orange, roasted black aroma. A thick mouthfeel. Carbonation right there.Would take it on cask. Not a big nitro fan, or coffee and cream guy.Smooth for what it is.

20 oz on-tap glass directly at Siboire brewery in Sherbrooke

A - Pours a black color with brown highlights, fair tan head

S - Overall of coffee, roasted malt, wood

T - Taste like it smells, coffee and roasted malt, sweet molasses from the oatmeal, little of fruitiness at the end

MF - Dry black beer with a medium body, nitrogen carbonation

D - High drinkability, really like it, a good stout
