a very well made and drinkable, if somewhat uninspired irish red. this place had a mix of fairly inventive stuff, and then these handful of straight to style beers, all were good, but i prefered the more ambitious of them. darker than most in this style, crimson colored with a little shine, but a deep brick red hue to it, pretty in the glass with great clarity. aroma and flavor bring a classic european crystal type malt complexion, a little bit of a kilned red malt toasted nature too, nutty and hearty, autumnal for sure, and lots of body without a ton of sweetness, which is a usual pitfall in the style, but this one is nice and dry. the ale yeast is distinct here too, bready and warming and wonderful with the deeper grains in here, some light caramel, even a maple note as well. smooth going down, well carbonated, but better colored than as it warms up. this is not a style that ever really gets me off, but this is a well done version of it, a little more substantial than most, which i really like this time of year. well done overall.

Garnet colored brew, clear, off white head leaves only a random didn't of lacing. Smells sweet with some caramel and apples. Tastes sweet with muted flavor of apples and a decent bitter finish that has some floral components. Decent red.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. Reddish colour, small whitish head.some decent bitterness, with a mineral edge. Not bad, hits the mark of the style.Solid member of the lineup, fresh and a bit complex adding to drinkability.Neutral in aroma although fresh.

This beer is brewed in collaboration with the academic brewing club "SherBroue" from the University of Sherbrooke (Qc)-> www.sherbroue.ca

On-Tap at the brewery, 20oz glass

A- Pours a good red-amber colored body. The head was small, litlle lacing, average retention time

S- Smooth caramel scent along with sharp bread and cereal notes. OK hoppy aromas in final

T- This beer hits you first with it sweet and smooth caramel flavor. The alcohol is there but very faint. Finishes with that caramel, fresh cereal and mixed nuts

M- This beer is super smooth and hearty. The bitterness is mild, finishes oily and smooth

D- Well balanced, nice IRA, I would whole-heartedly suggest picking one of these up.

Cheers
