Pours a dark chocolate brown with almost no head. Light tan around the glass but that’s it. Not much lacing. Smells of chocolate and a bit of malt but not burnt. A little fruit aroma after a swirl. Tastes the same. Chocolate and light malt. Maybe a little citrus hop. Very mild and friendly flavor. Thicker and creamy mouthfeel with good balance on the carbonation. Overall a good dark beer with great drinkability. Would have again.

Poured from a can into a tulip glass.
Pleasant sweet smell of toffee and caramel. Added to this in the taste are warm spices and dark raisins. Pretty good representation of the style.

Looks dark brown but has a lot of red hues when held up to a light. Clear. Smell is of toffee, raisins, burnt toast, but slightly subdued. Taste is dried dark fruits, some toasted bread, coffee, burnt grain, and a slight (very slight) citrus note. It finishes clean and fairly dry for the style. It actually tastes a lot like a dry stout. It’s not something to chug down like a frat boy but something to sip on around the fire pit. The 6.9% abv will sneak up on you and kick you square in the ass. Cheers

Nice dark, malty beer with a very good roasted body to it. Light character for a darker beer; super drinkable and easy to gulp on.
Chocolatey/toffee flavors and taste with a little bit of marshmallow/cream. Very easily drinkable with a decent abv to back it up. Could easily get me crunk if I had a couple, only have one though.
Definitely worth a shot especially for us southerners. Southern Tier holding it down with this ageable but quote light warmer. Perfect for going fishing and chilling, if I was at home with a glass I'd write more. The balance is key.

Described by the bartender as more of an old ale, but listed in BA as a winter warmer. Not a classic old ale, but not entirely a winter warmer. Not as sweet and malty as a winter warmer. Interesting. I will rate to the style listed (winter warmer). 3.5
A - A bit too much head retention for an old ale, but nice and frothy. 3.75
S & T- An old ale aroma but more of a winter warmer taste. 3.75
MF - Medium body. Smooth. 4

Look: Rich brown; Smell: Lively, almost like something sweet baking; Taste: Almost exactly like their Buried Hatchet Stout except this tastes considerably sweeter with spicy notes. I'm thinking of the flavor of a very spicy holiday cake with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg; Feel: Thick, coats the mouth; Overall: A very pleasant, sweet brew. I liked it a lot, but I wouldn't drink more than one at a time due to the sweetness. The alcohol is rated on the can at 6.9% by volume. I didn't need more than one anyway! Nice beer, but not as a steady diet. My favorite, go-to beer is their Buried Hatchet Stout.
