look is dark brown/espresso on draft. Tan head disappears, spotty lacing.

Smell is pretty minimal, I'm getting some malts but no sign of coffee.

Taste is where the coffee shows up. Its very bitter, and to be honest its kind of harsh. Getting some metallic notes that I've found in older coffee stouts/porters. This is probably not fresh.

Feel is thin and not memorable.

Overall, there are a lot of better coffee stouts out there. Buried Hatchet is solid and I like the Black Crack version, but this misses for me.

Poured into sniffer, 1 finger head. Smells like fresh ground coffee, I wish to hell I had this beer in Florida when I was on vacation, would have been a great morning beer. This has to be without a doubt the smoothest coffee stout I have ever had. Taste almost like there is lactose in it it is soooo smooth. This is like drinking a coldbrew coffee, nice non bitter coffee taste with a mild chocolate finish. Very mild bitterness on the aftertaste. Man if they were to drop this in cans.......

Had this from the cask engine at Brews Brothers in Galveston, not sure if it was aged, or from a new batch. AMAZING mouthfeel, and very well balanced!

Had this at tap at Petrol Station. They used coffee beans roasted at Petrol.
Lets get one thing straight: I love Burried the Hatchet!
Another thing: I Love coffee.

I think that's enough to be said.

Great beer, those three pints did me very very very well.

On tap at Petrol Station in Houston. Dark auburn color, clearish but really more translucent, little head, no lacing. The aroma is all coffee and sweet malts, sorta simplistic but it does smell tasty. The flavor is fresh coffee with some milk chocolate thrown in. Overwhelmingly sweet, no bitterness from the coffee, very tasty. The body is light and creamy, maybe there's a little oatmeal in this too. The sweet aftertaste kind of hooked me, very drinkable. The only thing that disappointed me was the appearance.
