Classic Bavarian-style hefeweizen from the mind of our Bavarian brewmaster. Cloudy, unfiltered and rich with a robust, bready finish, complemented by undertones of banana and clove. The most popular beer style in southern Germany.

A: Pours an orange color with a bit of haze. A small white head forms and recedes quickly. Light lace is left behind.
S/T: Both aroma and taste follow suit. Orange rind, some fruitiness that could be light esters. An odd plastic like phenolic character, light cracker like malts and sweetness.
M/O: A lighter body than expected. Moderate carbonation, and just kind of there. There are better examples of the style easily available.
I guess they are using Bombshell as a brand now. I haven't had anything from Southern Start in a long time, and this is kind of why. Everything is very safe and middle of the road now. Certainly not a bad offering, but just very average.

Drank 6/26/24.
Pour is a murky golden yellow. Chalk white cap of foam. Decent lacing and retention.
Nose is appropriate esters, clove, wheat, banana
Taste clove, banana, ester, bready. Not bad. Not great.
