Dark brown colour with a beige head that fades rather quickly. Full nose of caramel, hops and liquorice. Taste is also very rich: caramel and liquorice again, but also fruit flavours like berries and orange (last one probably due to the hops). Roastes malts and pleasant hop bitterness in the aftertaste. A full and smooth drink, closer to the german than the dutch style. This brewer's 'normal' bock (IJsselbok) was quite funky (certainly not bad though), but this one is a top doppelbock.
