Pours a hazy orange color with a medium top off white head that dissolves slowly. Aroma is citrus, ripe fruits , tropical fruits, caramel, bread and floral hops. The taste is sweet and fruity at the start with strong tropical fruits notes, while in the background there is a malty caramel presence. It then finishes of with a medium bitterness with notes off floral hops. The aftertaste has a nice lenght. Mouthfeel is smooth and soft with a medium carbonation and a medium body.
A nicely balanced belgian ipa, easy drinking and good.

Pours a hazy amber, unfiltered, with an airy two-finger head; it lasts a while and turns into a nice ring, lots of lacing. Smell is orange and mango; some banana, bread and caramel in there as well. Taste is a tad subdued; there's orange and mango too, and citrus, plus some caramel from the malts. A bit grassy. It's not very sweet, somewhat bitter, and maybe a touch too watery. Body is light to medium, with little carbonation. There's pretty much no trace of the 7.5% ABV, which means it drinks way too fast...

Really nice.

Best by:April 2016....so some age on it.Pours into an impy nonic a hazed lighter amber shade with a blooming off white head atop. Some mild green apple and caramel malts in the nose, lightly sour.No in your face hops here, deeply fruity and somewhat sweet with no in your face citric and/or resiny ops,it's on the sweeter side but with a good amount of frutiness to boot. The alcohol creeps and it's not an American style IPA at least my style anyways but it's not a bad beer by any style. Not much Belgian yeast either.

a real interesting beer, getting a little old now for a hoppy beer, this is one of the few ive seen come in that doesnt sell well. starting to see blow out prices here in denver, too bad, because this is awesome, and was probably even better when it was brand new, given the style. a wheat based ipa from belgium, cool! hazy and darker than expected, with a great big white head thats fully permanent. looks good but maybe a little oxidized with its age. smells fine though, malty for what it is, some toast and some caramel elements on top of the bigger wheat base, less hoppy than i thought too, but maybe faded with a little age. still worth the ten bucks i paid for it though. more hops in the flavor, bitter and grassy, european, traditional for a beer that is otherwise anything but, kind of a cool interplay with innovation and tradition there. a hint sweet from the grain, and a ton of body. this is my first beer from these guys, and probably not the best illustration of what they are capable of, but i am still impressed. less yeasty than it might be for a belgian, but sturdy beer all around. i want badly now to try it fresh...

22.3 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 11/2016. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy bright orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lemon, grapefruit, tangerine, apricot, pineapple, mango, melon, passion fruit, pear, apple, pepper, light pine, wheat, bread, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, grapefruit, tangerine, apricot, pineapple, mango, melon, passion fruit, pear, apple, pepper, light pine, wheat, bread, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, grapefruit, tangerine, apricot, pineapple, mango, melon, pepper, pine, wheat, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky/resinous, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Belgian IPA style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and moderate pale malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Decidedly hoppy but uniquely Belgian- the complex flavor mount upon a crisp, clean and highly refreshing mouthfeel. The brewers of De Dochter are bridging the worlds of America's pacific northwest with the Belgian lowlands quite seamlessly.

Crime Passionel pour with a deeply hazed peachy, honey-amber hue. Its visual bready texture sheds a dense blanket of foam that captures all the fruity, spicy and hop-forward notes and massages them into a perfumy, floral bouquet. Initial taste is bready and sweet, remiss of dough and sugar cookie to start.

But its sweetness is quickly shaken as the ale favors a host of citrus and orchard flavors. Derived from yeast and hops, flavors alternate between grapefruit and pear, orange and apricot, guava and apple, and even with a pineapple, kiwi and melon influence rounding out the taste. Not to outdone, its spicy white pepper, clove and cumin character link up with hop bitterness for a grassy, stemmy and leafy influence late.

Medium-light on the palate, the beer dries to near "west-coast" ipa perfection before a wheaty rebuttal closes with echoes of of fresh baking wheat bread. Meanwhile, its bitterness develops into a sharp and sappy taste of torn pine needles, fresh-cut grass and a peppery tingle.

Beautiful orange colour, nice not too big off-white head. In the nose pineapple, peppery notes, some slight funky notes. When you start sipping most of the fruit is gone, the peppery notes are still there, there is some wheat, even a hint of spruce resin, but mainly there are hops.
It is on the thin side, and low on carbonation. Finish is less dry than you would expect.
Overall a solid IPA, but I prefer a bit more complexity and/or balance.

Pours dark orange, hazy, one finger and a half creamy head with decent retention, very sticky.
Smell brimful with sweet oranges, tangerines, pineapple, mango, but also some faint funky notes, like smoked hay, mold, white bread, faint cream.
Juicy citrus in the taste, plus pineapple low-sugar syrup, some mango and faint papaya. Wheat is rather pronounced, especially after getting accustomed with the hops. A big grainy feel, straw, something like a rustic homemade bread, very "cereal" and a bit smoked. Some faint pine and grassy hops in the finish, some honey notes, plus some aromatic spicy herbs (faint coriander, white pepper, tea, juniper berries). Bitter, but not too extreme.
Chewy medium body, quite fizzy tho. Aftertaste of fruity hops (citrus mostly, loses its tropical note), wheat and spices.
Tasty, fruity, funky, balanced enough, nothing bad to say about it, good one.

Orange body capped by a dense white foam made of the tiniest of bubbles, with lots of lacing. Some sediment in the bottle. Bready smell of light wheat malt with moderate floral notes of orange and sweet tropical fruit, a tad of cheese. Tastes of orange/tropical notes, with a serious level of hoppiness over a light malt base. Dry-hopped with Citra. Belgian yeast with fruit and metal notes. Just a little bitterness in the long dry finish. Mouthfeel is light and bubbly, with a moderate amount of carbonation. This is a very fine Belgian IPA that is a pleasure to drink.
