Bottle from Etre Gourmet, served at home in a snifter glass.
Almost black colour, with medium brown head that fades quickly, leaving a bit of lacking.
Aroma is at first raisins, prunes and molasses. Then, as it warms, chocolate, oak, smoke, coffee.
Full body, sticky texture, good carbonation. Sweet finish.
Taste follows the aroma, with the addition of a subtle but disctintive hop flavour.
Very good.

Pours a deep, dark brown coloration with a small, frothy head. Smells of bready, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and lighter dark fruit accents of raisin and fig, with just a hint of earthy oak as well. Taste is a great balance of bready, roasted, slightly caramelly malt and quite rich dark chocolate and coffee notes, as well as lighter dark and hints of red fruit, with notes of raisin, fig and red currants and a subtle but distinct, rather earthy oak presence with hints of vanilla and tannic tartness. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and oak lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a rich body and medium carbonation.
A very nice Imperial Stout with some rather rich chocolate and coffee notes, a subtle yet distinct barrel presence and accents of dark and red fruit that has got a great roasted, dry and bitter character to it that is balanced nicely by some sweeter accents and a very light tartness. Overall a rather rich and complex, yet very well-balanced brew that is a joy to drink.

Straightforward and classically in the style, somewhat bitter and a little
Hoppy, medium roast, black licorice, very moderate sweetness. Thinnish in body, subtly tannic and oaky. Dry and faintly ashy in the finish. Solid and old school.
