Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color porter with a large brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of bitter black chocolate notes is dominant. Taste is also dominated by deep bitter black chocolate with light subtle residual sugar notes. Body is a bit thin with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Interesting experiment but too much bitter flavours which limits drinkability.

Labelled as Babeleir, 500ml bottle: was told only 600 bottles made by the guy who brought it to the bottle swap in De bierboom on 31st Jan 2014, sorry can't remember his name, but he lived in Brussels.

Deep, deep brown body, leaning towards black, on top an off-white blanket.

Roasted/toasted and almost burnt malts in the nose giving dark chocolate and coffee notes mixed with some woodiness.

The taste was also extremely malty, again with chocolate and coffee within the flavours. Fairly sweet, but I like that.

Rich, deep and thick bodied, nice.
