Note: I'm not sure if this brewery has gone through any changes, it seems that all they brew now is this and Akuna Blue, both alcoholic ginger beers. Presented in a clear bottle.
Apperance - 3.0
The white head fizzes and disappears immediately, as expected for a ginger beer. Light amber in colour and clear with some small sediment.
Smell - 3.5
Sweet and rich, smells of baking ginger cake and not much else.
Taste - 3.5
Very refreshing, sweeter than most beers, but less sweet than say, Bundaberg ginger beer (non alcoholic). As expected, ginger is the star, and you can taste that they have used real ginger root, not syrup. There is also a malty character that makes me think of ginger tea cake. No noticeable hops, but finishes with a nice ginger burn.
Mouthfeel - 3.0
Relatively light bodied, carbonation is aggressive, stinging the mouth. The beer leaves the mouth slightly sticky and hot from the ginger burn. This would all be terrible for any other style, but fine for a ginger beer.
Drinkability - 3.0
While refreshing, it is clear that the sugar content is much higher than in a pale lager, and as such I could never drink more than one at a time.
OVERALL - 3.3
I feel that drinks like this deserve to be more popular. Much nicer than a CC and Dry, maybe ginger beer is the thinging persons alcopop?

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
