Glowing deep amber colored beer with a thick creamy head that fades briskly leaving specs of lace along the way. I can smell the malt as the beer sits a foot away on my desk! It's a mix of caramel malt and more of a grainy smell. The flavor is a bit of pale malt and caramel malt up front that gives way to a hop tea flavor in the middle with a faint grainy flavor hanging underneath. Fine carbonation makes for a mouthfeel that is soft and smooth. Richer malt flavor then most festbiers (ie. Bergkirchweih and Xmass festbiers mainly) around here, and it's a welcome change. A solid beer that you should try if you get the chance.
