Thanks to Deuane for sharing a growler of this last night (7/28/08). This is a review of the raw version, without any syrup.
A - Light copper body with amber hues and one-finger bubbly white head that left a bit of spotty lacing around the glass. Nice effervescent bubbles of carbonation present.
S - Equal parts wheat, yeast and bready malt in the nose and, to a lesser extent, some mild grassy and floral hops in the back.
T - Begins with fresh wheat stalks and bready malt flavor initially; however, grassy and earthy hops begin to emerge about halfway through, which was a pleasant surprise! Finishes with a mild hop bite in the midst of all that fresh wheat goodness.
M - Light bodied with a moderately bubbly personality and a watery texture with a light syrupy base. Finishes with a fair amount of bitterness for a wheat beer.
D - The superior drinkability of this brew makes for a great summertime wheat beer. It was very nice to taste a bit of hops in this brew, which was a pleasant surprise. Nice job!

I had the opportunity to try this new creation from BBBC on tap at the brewery three different ways....the raw unadulterated form, with real German Woodruff syrup and with Raspberry extract syrup. My favorite was with the Woodruff.
This is a review of the "raw" draft.
A-Slightly hazy golden yellow with a medium bright white head that left spotty lacing.
S-Bready wheat malt with a light sour twang.
T-Tangy, bready, crisp and sharp. Really light and easy drinking. A bit of toastiness with a sneaky hop bite in the finish.
M-Light body, easy drinking, refreshing summer beer. Nice lingering twang and mild bitterness.
D-Poundable! This is a summer session beer. Nice to have the ability to add the raspberry and Woodruff syrups to change things up. Eminently light, crisp and refreshing.
