BBBC Steel Drivin' Stout aged for a few months in used Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrels. (The same barrels that were used for the GOTHIKA project)
A-Deep, clear, copper kissed blackish brown with a thin tan head that vaporized to nothing which deposited zero lacing.
S-Sweet and roasted malt notes with a pronounced fresh crushed vanilla aroma and a mild, offsetting oak astringency.
T-A smoothed out version of Steel Drivin' Stout. Light oak notes accented by strong notes of luscious vanilla sweetness. Stays smooth throughout. A subtle twang in the finish.
M-Medium-light to medium bodied and quite smooth. Light, but long lingering Bourbon accents. Drying oak astringency in the finish.
D-This beer is a perfect example of taking a good beer and making it better all with a little TLC in a Bourbon barrel. Nicely done a VERY pleasurable. I would like to see more of this barrel aging done at BBBC!
