Taster at Brewery. Near black pour with a tiny ring of beige head..Woody roasty aroma. More roasty notes in the flavor. mild sweetness and just minor notes of Bourbon Barrel.

awesome to see a barrel aged offering in such a small and humble little brewery, i had to jump on this one when i saw it. its also really cool that the alcohol is a bit lower, this helps with drinking more of it, but also makes it less intimidating to the drinkers they have coming in here, seems like a smart move. nice almost black dark chocolate brown color, and a lasting half inch of tan head on it. a nice looking glass of beer. the aroma is great too, lots of bourbon, less wood, i get more of the whiskey than the barrel, sweet vanilla on top of some sweeter caramelized grain sugars in the base beer is hearty and warming, and there is a nice roast without too much bitterness from it, hard to accomplish and well done here. smooth fuller body, not obviously as low alcohol as it is, as there definitely is a boozey elements from the bourbon. kind of a long finish here, a little barrel char, the vanilla, and some milk chocolate sweetness too. i like it a lot, and dont miss it not being 10% abv or anything, i think its very well dialed in. wonder how long it was in the barrel for, tastes quite mature. this was my favorite beer we had in here by a mile!
