Thanks to SierraGs for scoring me a growler of this!
A-Dark, brownish copper with a quickly disappearing white head. No lace.
S-Light hickory-like wood smoke and sweet caramel maltiness.
T-Sweet caramel malt and a light kiss of peppery hops. This then fades away into a long lingering and subtle smokiness. Nothing mouth smacking but you know it is there.
M-Medium body and malty smooth. So easy and the smoke pervades into your every sip.
D-Lagered for maximum smoothness with a not too harsh, just right, smoke flavour..this was simply wonderful. I could drink quite a few of these.

Despite the dark color of this lager, the aroma and flavor were both lighter and less smoky than many other rauch beers I've had.
It had mild hints of malt and hops, and lacked the heavy smokiness that generally turns me off to this style. The smoke was more subtle, and the carmel flavors came through.
It is brewed with German Pilsner and Vienna malts, and traditional smoked malt from Bamberg, then lagered to develop the smooth character.
I really enjoyed this brew.
