This beer pours an orangish amber hue with a very small loose head. It it fairly clear but not comletely opaque.
It smells of caramelly and bready malts with very little hop presence. The nose on this beer is a bit more pronounced than some of the other Oktoberfests I've had this year.
Upon tasting this beer is medium bodied with a nice straight froward maltiness. It has a nice sweetness to it that leads a very smooth and creamy texture to this beer. It is easily quaffable and a very deserving beer to be on at this Oktoberfest party here in Berwick.

Had this one on tap at the brewery today.
Appearance: Pours a fairly peach color with minimal crown.
Smell: Toffee, honey, butter, citrus, and fresh dough.
Taste: Same as nose.
Mouthfeel: On the thin side of medium bodied and crisp.
Drinkability: Sessionable.

On tap at the Back Yard Ale House. Poured into a standard lager glass...
Appearance: Pours a deep, cloudy amber color with very little head. What little head there was faded to nothingness very quickly and left virtually no lacing.
Smell: Interesting. Definitely sweet, but not the kind of bready/biscuity sweetness I've seen in other Oktoberfests. I can't quite place this one. I'll attribute the lack of a solid smell to the outdoor atmosphere in which this brew was consumed.
Taste: Similar to the smell in that I can't quite place it. Sweet, but almost like a sugary, syrupy kind of sweet. Very odd. Not bad, just different.
Mouthfeel: This is where everything really does down hill. This brew is very under carbonated, and has a buttery smooth texture. Not pleasant at all.
Drinkability: This brew was a bit disappointing. I've had Guy's brews before and there were all pretty solid. This one, albeit a bit unique for an Oktoberfest, really went downhill in the mouthfeel department. I'm going to chalk this one up to a bad pour, and I will revisit this one again. Hopefully the next time will be straight from One Guy Brewing in Berwick.

On tap at One Guy on 9/4/09. Enjoyed in the new outside Biergarten!
A - Clear, rusty orange/copper-tinged body with lively carbonation bubbles and almost two fingers of frothy off-white head that settled into a thin ring and sparse lacing, although the head flared up nicely when I swirled the contents of the glass.
S - Sweet caramel malt with a hint of toffee, honey, citrus fruit and a light floral hop character. Some mild spices also emerge, with cinnamon being the most apparent. Pretty subdued aroma overall.
T - Caramel malt and toffee sweetness dominates the flavor, while some light floral and citrus notes add a bit of hop bitterness. A spicy character emerges in the middle, followed by a fruity sweetness and some toasted grains in the backend. Finishes with a hint of leafy, tea-like hop bitterness.
M - Medium bodied with a syrupy texture and prickly carbonation. Finishes sweet on the tongue, but with a light hop presence as well.
D - Another traditional German style from One Guy. I wouldn't expect anything less. Not too sweet, and just in time for the season!

Appears a hazy, light gold with a small, white head that quickly fades into a mild collar. Scattered spots of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of wheat, caramel, fresh dough, malt, sourdough bread with a weirdness that I can't put my finger on.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with a tart flavor that just seems to be a bit too much for an O-Fest, IMO.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, highly carbonated, crisp, with a tartness that wins out in the balance department.

Poured from a stichfass at the One Guy Oktoberfest into a half liter tumbler. Appears a hazy dark copper color with a good two fingers of creamy off-white foam. Smells of caramel malts. Tastes of lightly toasted grains with a very pleasant mild hoppiness and a large dose of malt. Very smooth with medium body and carbonation. Crisp, clean and very fresh. A great interpretation of the style and a good way to welcome the cool weather of fall.
