A-Deep brown with an interesting purple tint via the raspberry addition. A thick, creamy tan head slowly reduces to a thin cap and leaves hefty swaths of lace.

S-Dark chocolate covered raspberries up front with a touch of sourness and roasted malt backing.

T-Dry roasted malt a touch chalky with luscious, deep waves of chocolate raspberry goodness. A light acidic bite and subtle nuttiness emerge in the drying finish.

M-Medium bodied and quite soft and chalky in the finish, with nice dryness and lingering earthy hop bitterness. on the palate.

D-Come on, as long as it's done right (and it is), how can one go wrong with chocolate and raspberries? This is about as easy drinking and delicious as you can get.

Via growler procured by Deuane and shared on 12/30/09.

A - Emerged from the growler as a deep brown-colored liquid with a purple aura and a finger's worth of creamy, medium brown head that yielded thin, sheet-like and striped lacing down the sides of the glass.

S - Raspberry puree with dark chocolate notes and a slight earthy character. Raspberry take on a more sweet than tart role, although there is a smidgen of sourness in the nose.

T - Mild roasty malt with bittersweet chocolate notes and a semi-sweet raspberry character that's not too sweet or tart. A nutty malt character emerges in the middle, followed by a slight tinge of earthy hop bitterness in the finish.

M - Medium bodied and very softly carbonated with mild alcohol warmth, a hint of astringency and earthy hop bitterness on the palate.

D - I'm definitely Guy used these fresh raspberries in a porter, because this experiment turned out quite nicely. You simply can't go wrong with the chocolate and raspberry combination. This makes for a great dessert beer.

On tap at the brewpub and served ice cold in a 33cl glass for $5. ($23 for a growler fyi). Appears a dark brown color with a good inch of tan foam. No lacing to mention. Nose and flavors consist of roasted grains, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, slightly sour and tart raspberries, dark fruits. Decent medium body, quite smooth with a dry, mildly sour finish. No alcohol heat to speak of. Pretty tasty overall, but it was one and done for me. I took home half a growler of the Atomic Punk IPA instead.

On tap at the brewery, and I took home 2 growlers as well.

Poured a very dark brown, kept a decent beige head and left a bit of stick.

Smell was of fresh, juicy raspberries, some dark chocolate and roasted malt. Raspberry is not overpowering but is very pleasant and plenty apparent.

Raspberries are even a bit more subtle on the palate than on the nose. Very smooth and flavorful with subtle raspberry flavor, some roasted malt and a bit of chocolate.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth, softly carbonated and very creamy.

This was a really tasty beer and super drinkable. Guy actually said that the first batch they brewed was too strong on the raspberries so they blended it with another batch of porter, and arrived at this very tasty concoction. The blend was a good choice I think because the raspberries are never overpowering but are an excellent complementary flavor and aroma. Get some of this tasty brew before it's gone.
