Not pale. Hardly an ale. No hops flavor, tasted like a watery, malty lager, or an English bitter gone wrong. Color was a dark amber, strong smell of malt and alcohol despite the low alcohol content. Slight head, very thin mouthfeel. Had a potent bitter taste that led to a disappointing finish. No hops, no fruitiness.
