Sampled at the brewery, this is their flagship product. Brewer Chris is quite proud of it, and he should be. Comes out a cloudy reddish gold under a one finger white head of solid cream consistency that fades very slowly, leaving lots of lace rings and strands. The appearance is truly a thing of beauty. The nose is mild, with dominant hop notes and a touch of sweet perfume. The mouth is mildly carbonated, clean but slightly heavier than light. The taste is wonderfully balanced, simultaneously sweet bready grain and mild but ever present dry near espresso hops bitter. There's also just the right touch of melon towards the front. The aftetaste accentuates the very pleasant, unpretentious bitter, which doesn't last too long but definitely inspires the next sip. A very fine product indeed, this might just be the best Vienna lager in Vienna.
