Pours hazy gold with a quickly fading head.
Nose shows spicy phenols, some saison/farmhouse notes, sweet malt, confectionery, booze.
More saison notes in the way of flavours, along with hot booze, banana and soft pear esters.

Pours a pale straw colour, huge cloud throughout letting very little light through. White head, dense and retaining well. Looks awesome.

Smells hoppy, and pleasant. Tangy, with notes of lime and pineapple coming to mind, strangely tropical for the style but so light and pleasant. All hop freshness with no bitter heaviness. Very nice.

Taste is hugely citris, the hops really take front seat here with lemon, lime and orange, loads of zest that descends into quite a bitter finish, where the hop resins mix nicely with the phenolic Belgian character. Really well-constructed hoppy palate with a twist of Belgian notes.

Body is a slight letdown as it's hugely thick. Hops cut through beautifully on the palate and nose but nothing can save the sinkiness of the texture.

Nice hop complement to strong Belgo characters. A great beer.

This was an honourable mention for the festival overall, just missing out on my top 5.

Hazy golden colour with a smooth, creamy, slightly off-white head.

Amazingly bright stonefruit aroma. A combination of hops and yeast aroma that works really well. Lightly earthy. Slightly spicy. Wow.

Great combination of light, sweet malt flavour. Stonefruit and lychee. Bitterness is a little mild for anything with IPA in the title but the hops meld really well with the Tripel here.

Medium body with moderately-high carbonation.

A really excellent beer. The Little Brewing Co has really picked up their game recently with beers that are better than ever before. This limited release is really great.

Tried on-tap at GABS in Melbourne.

Pours a solid yellow colour with fair hazing in the glass. Body is pretty hefty but doesn't capture carbonation much. Head is a firm ring of white that leaves some streaks of lace as it goes down. Not bad.

Nose immediately screams antiseptic to me: lots of piney Dettol giving a true astringency. As it warms, slightly sweeter notes come through, giving a little pineapple and a slight dustiness. But it's a little problematic, to be sure.

Light, dry entry on the palate with some fruity characters coming through: more pineapple in particular. The back has more of that piney bitterness, but the finish is bone-dry, leaving the hops to scrape at nothing. There's the hint of booze to the finish as well, although I'd say 9.5% of alcohol is actually fairly well hidden. Feel is full.

Overall, the bitterness is a bit overwhelming and a little unstructured and unbalanced. It doesn't do it for me, but there's no doubting it's a big powerful beer—and I love TLB for doing it.

My new favourite from The little brewing company - superb!

aroma - orange, melon and clove

taste: banana, orange, clove, melon, spice, citrus and grapefruit

Well balanced with the best of a Tripel and IPA coming out - Great style and well executed.
