A - Pours a dark amber under a thin but creamy white head with decent lacing.

S - Fresh and lightly fruity, grapefruit and mild earthy hops.

T - Pine resin and orange, quite light on flavour with a tame bitterness.

M - Light to medium bodied, moderate carbonation.

O - Just another average Aussie APA. Certainly not a bad beer but there are dozens more as good or better.

Pale amber, copper colour with an aggressive, off white head, Yeast lurking at the bottom of the bottle. Citrus hop aroma, with tropical fruit punch and a hint of pine resin. Light sweetness and light to medium bitterness. Medium body; smooth, creamy texture; average carbonation and lingering, chewy, bitterness in the finish. Not bad.

a prominent citrus hop flavor has a slight tangy note with some sweet caramel malt flavor and a fresh sweet pale malt flavor. This beer has a medium mouthfeel with no alcohol heat

Not bad, not bad. At first I was a little skeptical as the head was modest and aroma a bit funky. Poured at a good temperature with a smallish, cream-colored, thick, short lived head and some lace. Color is a clear honey amber with bubble trails. Aroma is malt, barn yard, funk. Flavor is way better with resiny hop in front, then tang, then a nice dose of sweet to balance. This beer grows on me the more I drink it, esp. if I ignore whiffing it. Body is very good; ditto carbonation. Finish is like flavor, of average length, no off qualities, super drinkable. Bravo!

Bottle: quality 330mL brown bottle, awesome 'old school' label... even the bottle cap is sweet.

Appearance: pours mid amber in colour with a solid cap of white head. A reasonable amount of carbonation.

Aroma: light on the nose with citrus and tea, pine hops to boot.

Taste: the dominant flavour is a very soft caramel with some hop bitterness. A well-balanced beer, possibly a bit heavy on the caramel sweetness.

Aftertaste: drops away a bit, and the sweetness comes through if anything a bit stronger, which doesn't tickle me the right way.

Mouth feel: a moderate body with also moderate carbonation. Could probably have used a bit more carbonation to bring more hop flavour through.

Overall: a decent APA but probably not for AI$84 a case of 24 x 330mL (2013).

Very nice pale ale that nearly crosses over into IPA territory

aroma: malt, spice and citrus

taste: pine, grapefruit, citrus, spice, slight malt and orange marmalade (although malt flavour came out more when warmed up and close to bottom of glass)

Nice and crisp, dry finish and very well balanced. Full of flavour and a very good example of a quality pale ale.

A: Pours a a rich amber color with a good head that fades to nice lacing.

S: Aroma of citrus and pine with some malt sweetness in the background.

T: Taste of mild pine with an easy malt sweetness and bit of spice. Mild bitterness and a clean finish.

F: Medium body, smooth with a bit of character. Nicely balanced.

O: A quality Pale Ale, good for a few. Worth checking out.

330ml bottle. Pale amber / copper colour with an aggressive, whispy off white head which quickly subsided. On the second pour the head became denser and lasted well before reducing to a disc and left some very nice lace. Yeast lurking at the bottom of the bottle. Citrus hop aroma, with tropical fruit punch and a hint of pine resin. Light sweetness and light to medium bitterness. Medium body; smooth, creamy texture; average carbonation and lingering, chewy, bitterness in the finish. Not bad.

Nice copper color hints at a much more malt focused beer the Skipping Girl. And the rest of the beer follows the same trend.

More subdued aroma that displays the beers focus on balance.

Honestly don't think this is any less bitter than MGSG but the more characterful malt focus gives it a much less bitter impression. Certainly not heavy or sweet so they have done well to restrain use of specialty malts while still tossing in enough to impart their character on the beer.

Marked it down half a notch in drinkability mostly due to how much a fan I am of hoppy pale ales. Still an extreme
Y enjoyable beer though and would be happy to try I again.

Sourced this one from the brewery just before Christmas, freshness not an issue as it had been bottled the previous day!

Pours a one finger head which dies fairly quickly. Good lace. Copper/amber in colour. Little bubbling.

Aromas of strong pine/grapefruit. Good stuff.

Taste is a very well represented APA. Initial grapefruit and citrus flavours are backed by malts, and a good degree of hop bitterness to finish.

Mouthfeel is the only let down. Undercarbonated for this reviewer, and somewhat watery.

All in all, a good example of local brewing.

Side issue, if only the bottled was as good as the keg sample at the brewery - that was truly sensational.
