On tap into a tulip glass. Pours a clear golden color with a one finger head that leaves a ring of lacing at the top of the glass. Nose of pine and citrus hops, primarily bitter pine. Taste is pine hops, surprisingly there malt backbone, and citrus hops with a bitter pine finish. Medium body and medium-light carbonation with a bitter aftertaste.
Definitely a take on a west coast IPA. More balanced than Snowflake, but not the most smooth IPA. I actually enjoyed it more as it warmed up, since it got sweeter as it warmed.

Poured a golden-yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of pine/resin with some citrus notes. Tasted strongly of piney bitterness with subtle citrus and caramel notes.

16 ounce pour at the Albuquerque taproom.
I'm immediately impressed by the lighter golden color, not quite pilsner light, but clearly showing a lighter malt touch. Frothy pale white head and sticky lace present.
Smell doesn't quite have the pop I want but I notice this is served pretty damn cold. I wish the beer were a little warmer and as I allow it to warm the nose speaks more. Floral and a touch sweet up front with a hints of resin and citrusy notes. I often compare Mosaic beers to Yellow Rose and this doesn't hit the tropical levels nor show the melon that I love in that beer. Despite this, the aroma will please.
Taste is again impacted by a really cold temperature. As it warms up, the traits from the nose carry over. Floral and resinous with light fruit notes that are difficult to label, it eventually opens up to juicy grapefruit and orange juice on the finish. The flavors can be described as either light, subtle, not-in-your-face...but they're there and enjoyable eventually.
Feel-wise this thing satisfies. It's really easy to drink and light and refreshing with a juicy finish that hits the spot after a gym visit. I don't generally find this refreshing factor in SFBC beers, so this is extra icing on the cake.
I'll be back for more of this. This is well done.
