Poured from a 19.2oz stovepipe can, produced on August 27th, 2025.

I'll preface this by saying usually I'm not an IPA guy, but I do appreciate a good one.

On the pour not quite a finger of white head forms, but it is quite bubbly, and head retention isn't very good. Body is hazy but I can still see light through it. Color is a golden yellow.

Aroma is strong and honestly a bit boozy. There are some bright hops, but it's hard to really overcome that alcohol sweetness muddling everything together. Some floral and zesty notes are present with a very light juiciness.

Flavor is even more boozy honestly, but I should have expected that. It does follow the aroma mostly however. It tastes quite bright and hoppy up front before that alcohol sweetness really takes over. In general it is quite bitter, but weather that is mostly the hops of alcohol, I'm not sure.

Feel is quite full but not heavy. It just feels, as the can itself says, high octane. I can almost feel a twinge of alcohol burn on my tongue and the retrohale is verging on vaporous. Not necessarily easy drinking, but later I'll definitely be "feeling" good...

Overall this is definitely a local competitor to Voodoo Ranger's strong hazy IPAs. It's not flavored and I can feel that ABV as the beer itself isn't hiding that at all. The hops are good but covered up quickly. Maybe it's just the ABV and I'm outta my mind, but I think I'd rather have a Voodoo Ranger of all things.

At 9.5% abv, this double NEIPA is surprisingly drinkable. Pours light and hazy with a white creamy head. There is a faint passion fruit aroma and a light bitterness on the back of the tongue. There is no alcohol aroma for such a high gravity ale. Overall a good winter warmer style.
