real nice hoppy lager here, almost west coast pils to me, well refined, and apparently one of the first beers off their new pilot system, which is rad. this seems dialed already, lots of authentic crackery and slightly sweet pils malt character in this clear richer looking golden brew, high shine and polish, average white head from the tap, a light orange tint maybe. i thought they were calling it beam me up, but maybe i was buzzed and misremembered, had to look it up, sure its the same thing. beyond noble hops to me on this in aroma and flavor, not quite snappy because of the malt heft, but well lagered too, hints of grass thats growing green in summer, good green tea brewed properly, subtle white florals, and modest bitterness with slightly earlier onset, all of which works well with the familiar but more robust than is common grain profile here, some european authenticity on the palate, but also more hoppy and maybe a little more neutral on the lager yeast than you generally find in the old world. good minerality and overall quality though, awesome carbonation, and refreshing to me even though its maltier and slightly stronger than is common, it works. some body, lots of bubbles, very fresh, good interplay between grain and hops, maybe not quite summery, but i think this is quite successful overall. do they have a pils in their fulltime lineup? if not this could play there i think. nice, especially for a test batch!
