a real nice lager here, done in collaboration with turtle mountain, who i know nothing about. not quite a classic vienna here, yes its a malt driven full strength lager with some european grain character, but its got a ton of personality, a little outside the confines of what is normally expected here, but it plays in the same space, really solid offering overall. honey colored and clear, average white head from the tap, brassy and with some shine, reflects and enhances the evening sunlight rather beautifully. the nose here is wildflower honey again, almost like this was made with honey, some of that vienna malt richness right there with it, but also nicely lagered, to me almost like a steam beer, flavorful without being as crisp, a cool spot for this to be, minerality there too, pretty clean for being a tad sweet, honey not cheerios vibes. the flavor is also delicious, subtle and cohesive but also with some cool nuance that really sets it apart, mid palate sweetness but not overly rich on the whole, very fresh on the grain side, and with complimentary fermentation character, the whole thing leans almost english to me, soft feeling too which i love, and the aftertaste is slightly toasted, just baked, really good. neat little beer here, unsuspecting and infinitely drinkable, makes me curious to check out some more beers from turtle mountain too. really dug this.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
