Clear deep golden brew, whispy lacing. Nice looking. Honey'd malt nose, sweet and rich for a pils, with a limey hop twang. Crisp hops, sweet bready malt. IMO this probably would have been a winner. I know it's old, but since it was good I decided to past the review anyway. FWIW, it's been in cold storage for 3-3 1/2 years.

fizzy white blankets over hazy gray/yellow liquid.
Smelling this beer is like sticking one's nose into a room full of curing hands of tobacco. Some green, resin elements are strong but they are resolving into a nutty, dank earth-based complex of protein and alcohol. Give it strong points for intensity. Unfortunately the flavors seem to be breaking up slightly. Latex paint, fermented honey-water, and over ripe gooseberrys appear on the finish.Very buttery for a "pilsner." I smear some onto a piece of toast and it tastes delicious. This is like the honey-butter we used to make when I was a kid.

Translucent gold color on the pour, the head is pertinent, the texture frothy, the lace in fine sheets. Malt nose, crisp and clean, front is malt, the top lanky, the finish pleasingly hopped, moderate carbonation with a malt dry aftertaste. Pretty much a run of the mill beer, drinkable, and I would guess thatÂ’s not all bad.

Auckland Pilsner: Very strong aroma of hops and skunk. You could smell this beer from several feet away. Thick clingy head, with a medium bodied straw color, with a little haze. The beer was actually quite good, with somewhat pronounced malt flavors, with a very crisp, hoop finish. Very little after taste. Reminds me of Yuengling.

We have this at work for functions and my beer supplier has a guy that religiously buys this stuff. This beer poured a straw color and left a white head that subsided with a just a little lace. The aroma was of hops. The flavor as well was of hops and there was a bit of a bite in the finish. A servicable beer, but since it considers itself a Czech style pilsener, there are better ones out there.
